What we do

Participation in 30 European projects

In Viladecans City Council we have more than 20 years of experience in management of European projects. We have participated in more than 30 different projects, and the vast majority have focused on improving the employment and job skills, with a total of 20 projects implemented since the beginning of the 1990s. Also projects in the field of energy transition (4 projects executed) and the solutions for a more sustainable use of the territory (3 executed projects). In an increasingly interrelated and competitive world, the participation of local governments in European projects has become a necessity and an opportunity, especially for those municipalities that want to take advantage of all the opportunities that global positioning gives them. Participating in European projects gives us the following benefits:

● Lessons: Allows sharing common problems and addressing common challenges, by revealing solutions from other areas that might be useful or inspirational for our city.

● Innovative practices: Allows investing in innovation and working together with partners from other sectors (business, world research and innovation) and pilot projects to develop strategies and innovative practices.

● Visibility: Increases international projection of the city.

● New partners: Enables to establish links with key international partners beyond the project duration.

Current projects

We are currently working on three European projects: Vilawatt, an energy transition initiative that will place us at the level of cities such as Gothenburg and Paris; On Boarda project that transfers the EIN (Educational Innovation Network) to five European cities which also focus on fostering educational innovation and LEA (Learning Technology Accelerator) that seeks to act as an accelerator of learning technologies by fostering innovative public procurement systems.
