The beaches of Viladecans

PLENTY TO CHOOSE FROM EL REMOLAR

If you think it would be difficult to find pristine beaches so close to Barcelona, you couldn’t be more wrong! Just come to Viladecans; our beaches are part of the town’s many natural assets and have been recognised as such by NGO Ecologists in Action.

We know there’s no one perfect beach to suit everyone. Fortunately, each of ours has a character all of its own, and there’s room for easily-accessible, fully-equipped areas alongside others that are less developed. Just pick your favourite!

The beaches of Viladecans stretch for 2.5 km

Landscapes of beaches

A dune landscape that goes from the mouth of the Remolar lagoon – within the El Remolar Natural Area – to La Murtra lagoon. A large protected forest of stone pine runs parallel to the coast, completing the landscape.

Their proximity to Barcelona, and the well-preserved natural setting, makes them ideal for a relaxing day at the beach. The quality of the sand is perfect for sunbathing (just don’t forget the sun cream). And if you like nature, there are walks through the nature reserves of El Remolar and the Las Filipinas marshlands, accessible from Cal Francès beach.

Car parking and easy access make this the most popular beach. You’ll still be able to spread out though as the beach stretches all the way from the lake to the breakwater. More information

A large part of this beach is protected as part of the Natura 2000 Network, and is a good example of a naturally regenerated dune system. La Pineda is the best-equipped beach in Viladecans, with the most services. Perfect for a family day out! More information

following on from La Pineda lies a beach where peace and quiet are guaranteed. La Pineda de Cal Francès is part of the Llobregat Delta Natural Area so it’s important to respect the environment when visiting this beach. More information

o the north of Viladecans, next to El Prat, this beach is part of one of the best-known ecosystems in the Llobregat Delta. Vegetated dunes and seasonally occurring ponds attract numerous birds to keep you company in the water. More information
