El Remolar Beach

This is el Remolar beach

Located to the north of Viladecans, next to El Prat, a large part of the beach, almost 900 metres, is covered with vegetated dunes and seasonal pools which serve as a habitat for numerous species of coastal birds.

Did you know El Remolar beach is one of the best-known protected ecosystems in the Llobregat Delta?

As with Cal Francès beach, El Remolar is not mechanically cleaned so you might find the odd bit of organic matter washed up by the tides or bad weather. Think of it not as an inconvenience, but a sign that we like to preserve the original environment as much as possible.

All this means El Remolar and the surrounding area suffer the least possible impact from human activity. Make sure you take a walk up to El Remolar lake and the Las Filipinas marshlands to really get to know this beautiful area.

In 2018, El Remolar and Cal Francès became the only beaches in the Barcelona region to be awarded “Virgin Beach" status. Without a doubt, a perfect place to enjoy a relaxing day at the beach in a really natural setting.

A natural beach in the Delta del Llobregat area

In order to conserve the ecosystem, the beach has no facilities except litter bins and an environmental information service. Remember, it’s up to all of us to enjoy the area responsibly since we’re on such a special beach.

El Remolar beach is a 40-minute walk from Terminal 1 of the airport via the path through the El Remolar-Filipinas Natural Area.

By bike, take the new bike lane which runs alongside the C-31.

  • If coming by car, parking is available outside the Area, at the Natural Area Interpretative Centre, 1.3 km from the beach. From October to May parking is available within the Area, just 250 metres from the beach.
  • By public transport, the L99 bus drops you by the airport employees’ car park in Terminal 1, 1.9 km from the beach.
