A beach for everyone

The beaches of Viladecans have numerous facilities that make them a perfect space to walk, take a bath and practice free activities. Some are pristine beaches and can only have minimal services, others have a wide range of facilities and services.

La Murtra beach, from the border with Gavà to the breakwater, is the most accessible and has a surveillance and rescue service, as well as showers, wooden walkways, bins (from May to September), free Wi-Fi and korfball baskets.

During the bathing season it is a guarded area and marked in the sea with yellow buoys. You can check its status by clicking on this link.

It has a bicycle parking and it is close to the food and drink kiosk, public toilets and the emergency room, where you can request a bathing chair for people with reduced mobility. If you need this last assistance, we recommend you to call the surveillance and first aid service in advance on 654 25 30 45.

Behind the Murtra breakwater is La Pineda beach, which is 1,250 meters long, most of which are within the bathing area guarded and signposted to the sea with yellow buoys.

It has a kiosk for drinks and food, showers and toilets (from May to September) and a relief place (in use during the summer surveillance season), where you can request a chair for bathroom for people with reduced mobility.

It also has a children’s play area and sports areas, with nets for playing volleyball.

And you can access the free municipal Wi-Fi network to enjoy the beach beyond the water.

During the bathing season, check the status of this beach at this link.

The pristine and natural character of the beach of La Pineda de Cal Francès means that it does not have facilities like other beaches (not even rubbish bins). It does have bicycle parking, both on the beach itself and at the end of the access road. The beach is more than 300 meters long and reaches the mouth of the Sant Climent stream.

The Remolar beach, with more than half a kilometer long, has a pristine and natural look like the one in La Pineda de Cal Francès. Because it does not have bins, to avoid having to go through a permanent collection process that could damage its natural balance, you need to take away any waste you generate. When you access this beach you will find a lookout tower to observe the fauna and from where you can see whales in the spring. In addition, it has a bridge to cross the Remolar lagoon to the Prat de Llobregat.

RESCUE ON THE BEACHES

Viladecans City Council hires a beach rescue and lifeguard service every year to ensure the safety of users. It is offered from June 15 to September 15 on the beaches of La Murtra and La Pineda. In July and August it will run every day from 10 am to 7 pm, while in June and September it will run on weekends and also on the public holidays, June 24 and September 11.

Viladecans beach has several rescue and surveillance facilities to ensure good service in the 900 linear meters of guarded coastline.

TO KEEP IN MIND

  • Dogs forbidden: From April 1 to September 30, dogs are not allowed on the beach at any time. The beach is a protected area. A task is being carried out to recover the dune community, as well as to nest the birds in the area and to maintain the local fauna that needs to be preserved.
  • Restricted fishing: Recreational fishing is only allowed from 8 pm to 8 am on the breakwater of La Murtra beach. Fishing on other beaches is prohibited.
  • Flags: They are not a recommendation, but mandatory. The red flag prohibits bathing, and the yellow flag requires caution. Follow the instructions of the lifeguards.
  • Surveillance of children: Families with children can go to the emergency room to provide them with an identification bracelet per child, which is very important if the child becomes disoriented.
